Overcoming mistrust of the educational system

This student arrived at Teaseldown School as a shy and anxious young man with ASD and dyslexia who had had experienced difficulties with his peers after being bullied in his previous school. Over time he worked hard on addressing and self-managing his anxiety, he built strong friendships with other students that are still maintained to this day. He took on a leadership role among the younger students offering lunchtime activities for them to participate in. His endearing personality, sense of humour and friendliness enabled him to increase his popularity with the other students and he worked hard to improve his overall independence. Every challenge he overcame he would tell the mentors about with pride. This student has moved on to Chelmsford College with a view to developing a career as a painter and decorator.
