Overcoming anxiety

BACK 07-10-2020

This student had been out of mainstream school when he came to Exceptional Ideas Outreach Service to carry on his studies in maths, English, sciences and art.

He was suffering from extreme anxiety due to noise levels at mainstream school and disruptive students. He found mainstream school very challenging and couldn’t cope with busy corridors and moving around the building in between lessons.  He showed all the signs of being a high achiever and needed to be supported carefully to get into one of our schools for the final two years of his initial education.

A place became available at Primrose Hill School and he was supported in all visits to the school by the Student Mentors he knew from Outreach until eventually he built relationships with the staff at Primrose Hill School and began to relax and enjoy being back at school full time.
