Firm Profile

Exceptional Ideas Ltd works on a multi-professional approach to ensure all needs of each young person placed with our service are met. To that end we look for a range of skills for Teaseldown School and Outreach Service. This multi-professional approach is reflected in the qualifications and experience of our staff, starting with the Directors of Exceptional Ideas Ltd.


Hazel Bunting

 

Having trained as a nurse in the early 1980's Hazel returned to full time education, eventually completing a BSC (Hons) in Psychology. After completing a PGCE she went on to complete a Postgraduate Certicate in Professional Studies in Education, a Certificate in Mainstream Support of Bilingual Pupils and eventually a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 2007. Hazel has worked with special needs, behavioural issues, looked after children and autism in mainstream schools, with the Local Education Authority, with foster agencies and Social Care Services and Independent Special Schools. Most recently her work has involved consultancy on curriculum, management and training of staff in dealing with behavioural issues, autism and curriculum planning and delivery.


Brett Runchman

Brett completed nursing registration in 1995 when he became a deputy team manager in a residential care home. During this time he gained a professional qualification in Teaching and Assessing Clinical Practice before becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 1998. For the next two years he was very involved with reprovision projects for adultsthat have a learning disability. In 2000 He became Children's Outreach Practitioner and completed a course in Makaton whilst studying for a BSC (Hons)in Community Special Practice. He became a manager for Colchester Primary Care Trust's for Children's Outreach Services, working across Health, Education and Social Care for the next five years. Before becoming a Director with Exceptional Ideas Ltd Brett worked as a Deputy Head for an Independent Therapeutic School for 4 years.
