Learning to manage, understand and talk through emotional outbursts and ‘meltdowns’
This student started at Primrose Hill School in year 8. He struggled academically at times, mainly due to issues with memory and concentration. However, his biggest barrier was the difficulties he faced with managing his temper and emotions; the emotional effort of dealing with the problems he faced daily often led to meltdowns.

Tackling school anxiety and creating a safe but challenging environment
This student joined our Outreach Service after five months out of mainstream school. His time in mainstream school had been extremely stressful for him; between noisy classrooms, disruptive students, crowded corridors and the need to travel between classes, the whole experience had generally been overwhelming. As a result, he was suffering from extreme anxiety which, combined with his diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Mild Cerebral Palsy, made it very difficult for him to cope day-to-day.
